2 Month Comparison

I've been so excited to recreate old pictures of Lexi with Avery. So here ya go, pictures of the girls at the same age, wearing the same clothes, in the same spot. Can you tell who is who?

First we have little Lexi...

And now it's little Avery...

So who would have thought that Lexi would be our chubby baby, especially since she was only 6 lbs 2 ozs when she was born. Avery I think will be smaller even though she was bigger at birth (7 lbs 11 ozs). You have to remember that I was pregnant over 3 weeks longer with Avery so she had more time to grow inside of me before birth. I'm pretty sure Lexi grew at a faster rate than Avery is but I'll know that better after Avery's two month check up.

Avery is 2 Months Old Today!!!

Today my little Avery Joy is 2 months old! I can't believe how quickly she is growing and changing. I think she is the most adorable baby ever! (I know that I will say that about all my kids and I will think it's true about all of them.) Avery truly is a little bundle of "Joy."

She is such a smiley baby. She loves to smile at me and coo. Avery has been really good at going to sleep at night at an early hour (sometime during the 8pm hour) and wakes up to eat really quickly twice at night usually. Avery is a great eater, she LOVES to eat. This past week I pumped and Sean tried to give her a bottle while I was out but she refused to take it. She also doesn't like pacifiers either. Avery hates getting put in her car seat and loves laying on her little activity mat.

Here are a few pictures I took of Avery today...

Big, Big Boo Boo

Last night we were at State Farm trying to take car of some insurance stuff. While we were there Lexi kept trying to sit in my car so we got her a chair of her own. She was so excited and hyper, she just kept wiggling and running around. Next thing I know, I hear a thud and she is laying on the ground screaming at the base of her chair. I immediately notice a red mark above her eye. This morning her eye was nearly swollen shut! I'm not exactly sure what to do for her. I know ice helps with swelling but good luck letting Lexi let me put on ice pack on her face. Any other suggestions?

2 Weeks Until 2

That's right, two weeks from today my baby (the middle sized one) will be 2 YEARS OLD!!! I can't believe it!!! I figure that I would share some pictures of Lexi this past week...

I really think Lexi has liked ABQ. She loves all the local parks, playing in the sand and swimming in the pool. She loves her new bigger bedroom and living room. She is always learning new things. Today she pretty much counted to 10 all on her own. She is so smart! She is learning to pronounce so many new sounds and can finally say "Lexi" although she still usually just refers to herself as "Dada." Lexi's last obsession is looking at her photo albums. She loves looking at pictures of herself and her cousins. She also likes looking at her aunts' blogs because she loves looking at pictures of her cousins. Lexi also is recently obsessed with tutu's and playing dress up. Lexi is a fantastic big sister. She loves Avery and loves being with her.

I Almost Peed My Pants Today...

...Because my girls make me laugh so hard. We played dress up today with some Halloween costumes that I bought last year at a thrift store. They were both such good sports. Lexi actually loves dressing up and Avery will get used to it.

(If you couldn't tell, Avery is a skunk. I just put the fabric flower in her "hair" so she looked like a girl skunk.)

I laughed so hard when Lexi was running around in her tutu and lady bug costume (she insisted on wearing both). I had to take a video. Enjoy!

Happy Father's Day!

Today is the day we celebrate our love of Dads! Today, Sean got to show off his amazing fathering and husbanding (is that a word?) abilities. He made us girls breakfast and dinner and helped get the girls ready for church. Yeah, I'm pretty lucky.

Sean is a phenomenal father! He adores his little girls. His cubicle at work is covered with pictures of them and he is known as the new guy with two kids.

And our girls love him, well Lexi mostly. Sean is the fun parent. Lexi gets so excited when Daddy comes home from work. She loves to rough house and play with her daddy. And as for Avery, I'm not sure she really likes Sean a bunch (sad, I know). She mostly just prefers me (I think it has something to do with her love for milk).

And of course we are lucky to both be blessed with AMAZING dads! Both of our father's are supportive, loving, kind, have a love of the Savior and the gospel and are great examples.

Full of Smiles

Avery is now 7 weeks old and is so smiley. She is also making a lot more sounds and is trying to interact more with us. See for yourself...

Pictures of Our New Home

So we've lived in Albuquerque for 2 1/2 weeks now. We are no longer living in a maze of boxes. Most things have a place and our apartment is feeling like home. Now all I need to do is finish decorating. I figure I'll just share pictures now and not wait until I'm satisfied with everything (that will probably never happen since I am always changing my mind).

First we have the living room. It's a long room with an awkwardly placed closet but it works. It's easily twice the size of our old living room so we love it!

We got my sister-in-law's old entertainment center which works great for us. Thanks Michelle!

This wall above the couch troubles me. Who in their right mind would put the thermostat in the middle of the wall!? I have no idea what I'm going to do to decorate around it. Any ideas?
And this is our dinning room/ office area. It's a great size. We were able to put our chest with a bench on it up against the window. So now we easily have sitting for six at the table.

Our kitchen is tiny but we have the biggest pantry closet in the hall so that makes up for the small size. My favorite thing about the kitchen is that there is a doorway to get into it which means I can block Lexi out with a baby gate!

Since I first took the pictures of the kitchen, I've put up some of my license plate collection. It adds some color.
Lexi has her own room for now. Eventually, I want to move Avery in with her. For now Lexi is still in the crib. When I'm ready (and when they are) Lexi will go into the toddler bed and Avery will go into the crib.

I love Lexi's room. It's over double the size of her old one. She actually has room to play. Her closet is huge so we use it as our storage closet for all our random things that don't have a place.
Our bathroom is tiny but we don't mind. I'd rather have the square footage somewhere else.
We have TONS of storage space in our bathroom though which is perfect for all our stuff.
And last our the tour is our room (and Avery's room too for now)...
