Guess What Lexi Lost...

Her voice! Lexi has had a rough few weeks. She got her third tooth and now the fourth one is breaking through. She has had a terrible cough and runny nose and now she has no voice! She has been such a trooper through it all! I love you Sissy!

My First Born

These sort of list things are all the rage on Facebook lately. I decided to do this one just on my blog...

1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED?

Well we went off birth control because I felt that was the right thing to do. We just didn't expect to get pregnant so fast.

2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME?

Yes, for just over 6 months.

3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS?

I had a feeling I was pregnant but I was still soooo excited. And Sean was too! I started planning everything.

4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU?

The thought never crossed my mind.

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU?

I was 21 when I got pregnant and 22 by 3 days when I became a Momma.

6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT?

I peed on a stick! Haha.

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST?

Andrea. We had to tell someone and we thought we'd wait until Christmas to surprise our parents but of course we didn't. We told them days later.

9. DUE DATE?

July 21, 2008 and then July 20, 2008

10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?

A little. Mostly I was just tired.

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?

I went through phases- bagels and cream cheese, minestrone soup, scrambled egg, potatoes.

12. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST?

Being hot and huge the end of my pregnancy.

13. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX?

A little girl!

14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING?

No. Sean and I both wanted/ knew we were having a girl from the begining. To be honest we would have been disappointed with a boy, just at first though.

15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY?

42 lbs! Can you believe it? The last week though I gain like 5-7 lbs, it was July and so hot, so it was a lot of water weight.

16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER?

Yes, 2 small ones and one really big one after Lexi was born.

17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW?

I am confused by the question... oh! The shower. One of the small ones was a surprise.

18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY?

Only minor things really- Lexi was in the wrong postion for a while, we couldn't find her heart beat at one appointment because she was hiding so far back, she was pressing against my nerve the last month so I kept going numb on my right side and I kept measuring early. The biggest complication would be the labor and delivery.

19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH?

Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg

20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?

32 hours and the frustrating part is I only dialated to 2 1/2 cm!

21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL?

Sean, it was only a 5 minute drive and I wasn't in any pain yet, so it was nice.

22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH?

Sean and the staff in the O.R.

23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION?

C-Section because I couldn't dialate and it was such a long labor and poor little Lexi was getting stressed. It was worth it though. I would do it again if needed.

24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN?

Of course! It was a C-section. Before that though I didn't get some meds. But before I went under the knife I was soooo drugged up.

27. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH?

Surprisingly 6 lbs 2 ozs. I was expecting a "moose baby."

28. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN ?

2 weeks before she was due.

30. WHAT DID YOU NAME HIM/HER?

Alexia Leah

31. HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST BORN TODAY?

Almost 8 months

32. WILL YOU BE HAVING ANOTHER?

Of course. I am not ready yet, plus it isn't safe yet because of the C-section delivery but when the time is right Lexi will be an awesome big sista!

And of course here are a few pictures...

Lexi's New Look

Last week Lexi got her third tooth. I was a little surprised that it wasn't one of the front ones. It is one on the side (on the top). She has a snaggle tooth. The same one on the other side is ready to come in so she might have fangs soon! I have to say that I hope a bunch come in right now that way I won't have to deal with so much teething later. I am tired of the crankiness and the runny nose.

April Fools... In February

Okay, I know some of you have been confused by the picture that was up at the top of our blog. Let me clarify. That picture was of Sean and I and our niece Adalynn. That wasn't Alexia. I am pleased with those of you that notice and the rest of you are just funny!
I know that both Alexia and Adalynn are adorable Christensen girls but when they are together you can tell them apart. See...

A Wonderful Weekend

This weekend we went down to Utah to be with Sean's family and see friends. Friday was Sean's sister Andrea's 19th birthday. We took her out to Frontier Pies for breakfast and then drove down to Utah. We stayed at Michelle and Justin's in West Jordan. Sean's brother Jared and his family came up from Vegas and Sean's brother Aaron came from Provo. We played with our kids, our Wii, ate lots of yummy food, watched a movie, went shopping, made bows, took lots of pictures, spent hours talking and laughing. We also went to see our friends Buck and Aubrey. We also went to the Provo temple grounds with Alexia. Other highlights included dying Andrea's hair, Lexi eating Lasagna for the first time.

Here are some pictures of Lexi with her cousins...

Here are some pictures with the Boyers.

We went to the temple grounds on Sunday. It was missionary fest. Missionaries were everywhere. It was crazy!

Our cute little family.

On the way home we took a pit stop and toured the ISU campus for fun.

It wasn't the most romantic Valentine's Day but it was filled with love.

My Favorite New Craft... The No Slippy Clippy

I have posted pictures recently on my Picasa Photo Album of some of the clips I've made and gotten some questions. These are like the easies thing to make. You can decorate your alligator clip any way you want the secret to make the clip stay in place is this stuff (I have no idea what it is called) People put it in drawers so things don't slide. If you are in Rexburg don't go buy any. I have a ton! More than I can ever use.
This is the secret ingredient.
I just cut it to size and hot glue it on like this.

Here are some of the clips I've made so far.And here is the finish result. Clips that don't slip and best of all I don't have to use a rubberband. And as you can see you can use the clip for several different styles and looks. Ryan is wearing one of Lexi's clips. I mad her some of her own and used brown ribbon to cover the clips so you couldn't see it and it was darling...

7 Months Old!

Tonight, Lexi will be seven months old. It has gone by so fast. We love her more today than ever. She is so much fun. She loves to interact with everyone. She is such a chatty Kathy. She is so smiley and giggles all the time. She has the most amazing smile and can make anyone happy. She is such a doll. I love spending everyday with her. To celebrate today we played. She ate potatoes (real ones off of my plate) for the first time (perfect for our Idaho baby) and I finally let her sit in the shopping cart. And of course I took some pictures...

Alexia we love you!
