An In-Law Filled Fourth

 Yesterday for the 4th of July we got together with my sister-in-laws' in-laws' and their in-laws. 

Basically the Searle family and their in-laws on all sides.

We had a great time! The girls were so happy to just be free to roam around the backyard.

But before I would let my kids have any fun, I made sure we took a few family pictures.

As you can tell, my girls were less than thrilled...

 

Once that was out of the way, we let our kids play on the slip-n-slide.

This was a new thing for them.

They weren't quit sure what to do at first but just loved playing with the water anyway.

Michelle is trying to teach Lexi how to use the slip-n-slide by pulling her along with a croquet mallet!

I just love this little cutie!

Sean was actually the one to noticed that they were painted.

 

Avery was just in heaven going around and doing whatever she wanted!

 

They boys played lots of sports.

Of course, there was lots of yummy, yummy food!

And the Searles are kinda crazy about their homemade ice cream. So there was lots of that there!

Michelle felt like she was being chased by the Paparazzi because I always had my camera with me.

And we ended the party with water balloons.

It was a great party! We can't wait to next year already.

(Yes we are totally inviting ourselves again.)

Sean's Favorite Holiday

It would be a crime if I didn't blog about Sean's favorite holiday, next to Christmas that is.

We had a laid back 4th of July.

Sean studied. He's taking his first CPA test next Friday on the 15th.

So his life consists of lots and lots of studying after work right now.

We watched a couple episodes of Lost.

We are now getting around to watching it now that we have Netflix.

And of course we wore red, white and blue.

And we tried to teaching Lexi a little about America.

One of the highlights of the day was dinner.

Turkey burgers, onion rings and french fries.

And a patriotic fruit pizza for dessert. YUM!


At 9 we woke up Avery and headed to go watch some fireworks. Both of the girls loved it.

4th of July

We missed spending the 4th of July in Rexburg, last year and the year before we watched the parade down Main Street. This year we didn't do much for the 4th. We went to church in the morning and right before sunset we went to our favorite park and then took a little drive to the temple at sunset. We then parked our car in a field next to the temple and watch fireworks go off all over the city. Lexi loved laying the back of the van watching the fireworks. She kept asking for more. Avery on the other hand hated it. She was tired and cranky and didn't like being up past her bedtime. Avery eventually fell asleep and Lexi enjoyed the show. So it was good little family outing.

God, Family, Country

4th of July was great this year. Sean loves being in Rexburg because it is such a patriotic town. There are so many flags and families out for the celebration. We went to a parade, basically everyone is town was in it or watching. It was tons of fun. We sat on the side under a tree because I was so worried about getting hot and we watched from a block away from the hospital because I was paranoid. Sean bought $8 worth of fireworks and gave me and Alexia our own personal show. Then at night we went and sat outside the temple and watch several firework shows go off around the valley. It was fun and free.

About a 1/3, if not more, of the "floats" were local dance groups. The little girls are so cute!
This is so Rexburg. And the driver was throwing out candy taped to pass-a-long cards!
