The Perfect Diaper Bag?

Is there such a thing? I have tried so many different bags and haven't found one that I like. Does anyone have the perfect solution? I hate carrying a big bulky bag, a purse and a baby. Lexi and I are flying to Washington in two weeks and I am trying to figure out the best way to travel by myself with a baby. I don't want to carry a million bags. I found a bag I like on diapers.com, it has a lot of pockets, which is what I need, but it is pricey. It's a Skip Hop Duo Deluxe.

And speaking of traveling, does anyone have any advice on flying with a 9 month old baby by yourself?

Twilight Craziness

My friend Jenna and I went to Wal-Mart just before midnight last Friday. We stood in line to buy Twilight when it came out at 12:01 am. I am not use to be up or out that late but it was so fun to be out with all the crazy, hard core fans. Jenna and I were the last ones to snag the special edition version. Saturday night, some of my friends got together and watched Twilight in our complex lounge on the big screen. And actually tomorrow I am getting together with some of my other friends to watch it in the afternoon. And sometime this week I am going to get Sean to watch it with me. All this movie watching makes me want to read the books again.

Spring Had Come!

Last week we had amazing weather in Rexburg. Lexi and I went on at least one walk everyday. To celebrate the first day of spring, we walked with some friends to Porter Park and went down the slide. And another day we walk to another flea market on campus (we didn't buy any turtles this time). I even got a little pink from all the sun. It's been amazing! Lexi has loved the sun and the gentle breeze. And that girl loves sitting on the grass. But this morning we woke up to a lite dusting of snow. That's Rexburg for you though. It is was a sunny day and all the snow melted away but it's annoying because I am ready for more days of capris and sandals.

Lexi's first time down the slide (was with me, this is just a staged picture, I wouldn't let her go down by herself)
Sitting in the nasty dead grass with Dad. At least there is no snow!
My friend Brenda took this picture of Lexi outside our apartment. I love it! Thanks Brenda, you're the best.

Alexia's Latest Tricks

Lexi is now a Pro Clapper, well would be if there was such a thing. She learned to clap and now does it all the time. And last week she started saying... Mom! Yes, Mom. Not mama. It's adorable and she says it all the time. She still says Dad, dada and Daddy a ton too. And she can make the sign for more and eat. And lately she has become a little dancer. When we sing or play music she starts wiggling her arms and head. And speaking of her head, she figured out how to shake her head (like when you say no). She is a little smarty pants!

Here is a video of her clapping. This was just after she first figured it out. She is so much better now.
And a video of her saying "Mom" is in the works...

Introducing...

Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher! We finally named our turtles!

Where Have We Been?

Last Sunday, the hard drive in our laptop crashed. So this week, we've had to get that fixed. We weren't excited about all the costs of fixing it but were blessed that our tax return finally came last week. Needless to say, our computer is all fixed and running even better than before luckily. It was so horrible going a week without the internet. And it was awful for Sean because having no laptop meant being on campus alot more than normal so he could use the computer. I missed him. I updated my Picasa photo album but still have some major posting to do on my blog. So look for updates and many pictures to come!

First Pickle and Potty Experience

Today we decided to let Lexi try a pickle for the first time. Here are some videos...

And today when I was changing her diaper I noticed that she still was trying to poop a little. So I rushed her naked little bum into the bathroom and sat her on the toilet. I think she got distracted by the toilet but she did poop a little.

8 Months Old, Donkeys, Turtles and Bowling

We had a fantastic weekend. It started on Friday with an adorable baby girl, you guessed it, Alexia. She turned eight months old. So we took some pictures, and yes these are all from the same day... And here is a video of eight month old Lexi...

Friday night, we went to Donkey Basketball and the Slam Dunk Contest. The Slam Dunk Conest is a tradition for us but this was the first time there has been Donkey Basketball. I had never heard of such a thing before, who knew that people rode real donkeys and played basketball at the same time! It was fun to watch. A few of the Donkeys were crazy and keep bucking people off. Lexi wasn't the biggest fan. Originally, I wasn't going to take her but we did, she and I left early though. Here is some footage.

Saturday, we went to the Flea Market on campus. It was crazy full and people were selling everything. I mean everything and I have proof, our two new baby turtles. Sean LOVES fish and bugs and small animals like that. So now we have two new additions to our small family. We don't know their gender. The guy who sold them say that you can't find out until they are five and they can't mate until then either. And he said they can live up to 40 years! But luckily they grow slowly. We haven't named them yet. Any suggestions? Aren't they cute?

And Sunday, Andrea finally because a Pro bowler on Wii Sports. So now Sean has some real competition!

Why Do Lexi's Clothes Smell Good?

So, before Lexi was born I was trying to decide what laundry soap to use on her clothes. My friend Aubrey said her sister uses Snuggle for her kids. So, I went and bought myself some Snuggle and have been very pleased. My sister-in-law Val keeps asking me why Lexi's clothes smell so good and what I use. So I looked the bottle, so I would be able tell her exactly what I was using. It turns out all this time I have been using Snuggle liquid concentrated FABRIC SOFTNER and dyer sheets. I haven't been using laundry soap! OOOPS!

Lexi Loves Her "Da Da"

She talks about him (well says his name) all the time now! She has been able to make the "da" sound for a while now but just this past weekend she has really started saying it a lot. She even say "Dad" and "Daddy" and Sean LOVES it!

More Pictures!

I have created a second Picasa photo album. I still have my original with it's link on the left side of my blog but now there is another link. The first one holds pictures from Alexia's birth through February 2009 and the new album starts with March 2009. The two albums are linked together also. I hope you enjoy!
