Pregnancy Update

As of yesterday, I'm 37 weeks along. So you'd think that would mean that it's almost go time, right? Not for this baby. I had my weekly check up today and I'm still measuring a week late and I haven't progressed at all. Plus this little girl hasn't dropped, she's not at all ready to come out. I am mentally preparing myself to have a May baby or at least going past my due date by at least a week.

I will NOT get induced. I'm just waiting for my body and baby to be ready. Getting induced would greatly reduced the chances of having a sucessful VBAC. When I do go into labor (most likely a month from now) I'm planning on laboring at home as long as possible and going without any pain medication as long as I can. I don't want anything to slow down my body. I've hired a doula to help me. She will come to my house and help me get through the contractions and the pain hopefully.

Since my last labor was very uneventful, aka I only dialated to a 2 1/2 after 32 hours of labor, I'm willing to try everything this time around to help my body out. I've started taking Evening Prime Rose oil and am drinking Red Raspberry Leaf tea daily. I bought some Clary Sage oil to rub on my belly when I do go into labor. I'm planning on getting a birthing ball to use now, in hopes of getting the baby to drop. I'm using aroma theraphy to help me relax and bought some relaxation CDs. If anyone has any other great ideas, please pass them my way!!!

And just on a side note, I have been craving cottage cheese daily and Baby Ruth candy bars. YUM!

IT'S ALMOST TIME!

Sean has his cap, gown and tassel now... that means it's almost happy dance time!!! 15 more days!!! We can make it two more weeks!!! (If you couldn't tell by all the exclamation points, we are REALLY excited)

Homemade Slime

My amazing sister-in-law Val, who is the world's funnest mom, made this for her kids and I finally decided to try it to. I got the instructions from a YouTube video she posted on her blog. Click here to watch it. The narrator's voice reminds me of Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. I don't think I made my slime quite right but it still works. And if anyone in Rexburg needs Borax come to my house, I have plenty to spare now.

Officially Counting Down!!!

Sean graduates 3 weeks from today!!! And we both couldn't be more excited. It's been a long and stressful semester but it's almost done. Sean is so ready for a break, he's been going to school five semesters in a row now and is burnt out. He's not done yet though. He still has plans for grad school but is going to take a year break from the textbooks. We're both excited to leave the student life behind (at least for a while) and be able to spend time together as a family at night without Sean stressed about homework. Also, the part about having a real job and income is really exciting.

My due date is 1 month from today!!! I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm excited to no longer be pregnant and to see my little girl but I'm nervous about the delivery, more so then last time. I'm trying to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) delivery and I've hired a doula to help me but I'm still just anxious to see how everything turns out. I'm not sure if it's just "cold feet" but I'm even considering switching from my current clinic to the midwives in town. I'll make that decision after my OB appointment next week. Let's just say that I'm excited to get this pregnancy and delivery over and start adjusting to life as a mommy of two.

Luck of the Irish

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

My mom served as a sister missionary in Ireland back in the early 80's. While living there she bought this little outfit. I wore it when I was Lexi's age for St. Patrick's Day and now it's Lexi's turn. Isn't she cute?!

I told Lexi to say, "Hi" to Gigi. So this wave is for you Mom.

I just wanted to show everyone what the back looks like.

Since Lexi is a skinny little kid the outfit keeps sliding off but it's still cute like this.


On a side note, Lexi wants to send a birthday shout out to her friend Madi who is turning 2 today!

Elmo Chair and Smiles

I love BYU-I's bulletin board, I bought Lexi this Elmo chair for $8 and it retails for $40. And let me tell you, Lexi LOVES it! Here she is so excited when she first got it....

Oreo's and Bath Time

Last night I gave Lexi Oreo's for the FIRST time...

She doesn't eat chocolate very often (she is hyper enough withouth the sugar) so this was fun for her. She loved the frosting...

I DID IT!!!

I am soooo proud of myself! I decided to make my girls quilts and I have no quilting experience. Although no where near perfect I think the rag quilts turned out great.

I'm not sure which side is the front and back but here they are...

What Lexi Does When We're Not Looking...

I got this Graco doll stroller with a carseat today for FREE. It's the same as Lexi's stroller. So I guess she thought that this one was for her too.

Spring is Almost Here!

It's offical next week Spring begins! And Lexi and I are READY! The snow is melting and the sun is shining and that means Lexi and I are going outside again. I took her to Porter park today and she was so giddy. This girl was meant to live in a warm climate where she can be outside.

My Baby is 20 Months Old!

I remember when I got pregnant with Lexi's little sister, I realized that my girls would be 21 months a part and now Lexi is 20 months old!!! She is growing up fast and her sister is coming soon!!!

Lexi is sassy, energetic, curious, adorable, tender, emotional, stubborn, and just one happy little girl. Sean also wants to add that Lexi is a diva, aka, a girlie girl.

Lexi was listening to a recording of her on my phone from over a year ago. She knew that she was listening to a baby so she got a bottle and put it up to the phone. This girl LOVES, LOVES, LOVES babies. They are her absolute favorite thing!

We finally got her a bed for her babies. Here she is signing "thank you" to me for getting it.

Yesterday we bought her a big girl potty. She was SO excited. She held it all through Wal-Mart and in the car. When we got home we stripped her down and sat her on it. I gave her a sippie cup with chocolate milk and she drank the whole thing which resulted in her going "pee pee" in the potty. She was shocked and we were excited. I ordered her an Elmo DVD about potty time so when that comes will work more on potty training but for now we are just introducing it.

Lexi recently got a golf set. She loves pushing the cart/bag around and putting the clubs away. Grandpa Christensen would be so proud.

Lexi LOVES dressing herself. This outfit was all her doing (minus the under shirt).

We have been working with Lexi on her vowels. She can say all of their names and can get them right most of the time. She loves playing with her letters in the bath tub.

I made Lexi's baby dolls some blankets and pillows. Lexi thinks they are for her though. Notice that she is using one of the doll pillows.

I was working on setting the table the other day and got distracted. Meanwhile, Lexi decided to help me finish. I think she was hinting something.

-One of Lexi's most recent fasination is stickers. She loves them. She loves putting them all over her hands, arms and feet.

-Most evenings I watch Bill O-Reilly on Fox news. Lexi now knows who he is and say "Rei Rei" when she sees him.

-Recently we got Lexi some blocks. I just want to say that she is going to be the kid in preschool who knocks over all the other kids blocks and makes them cry.

-Now when we ask Lexi anything about "sister" she runs to my belly and lifts up my shirt. It's adorable!
