My Long List of Wants

I have a few things I want to buy after we move to Utah.
Let me share.

A few weeks before we found out about little Sean #3,
we had decided that we didn't want to get pregnant until Avery was 3ish.
During this time, I was complaining to Sean about my current camera.
I asked him if we could get a new camera before we had another kid.
He said yes, thinking he wouldn't have to buy me one for a long time.
Well who knows when we will actually buy a new camera but it is one my wish list.
My current camera is a Nikon but I wouldn't mind going with a Cannon.
To be honest I really don't know exactly what I want.
I found this camera on Nikon's website for $499.95.

Our new apartment is going to have washer and dryer hook ups.
Can I get a really loud HALLELUJAH, IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!
Sean and I are so excited to buy our own set.
We've just barely started researching.
We aren't going to buy anything too fancy or front loading.
In our price range we basically get to choose the accent color on the knobs.
But we couldn't be more thrilled!
I found this particular washer at Lowe's for $499.
And too be honest that is more that we want to pay.
So if anyone out there knows where we can get a great deal in Utah, please let know.

Our blender died years ago.
I've been wanting to buy one for a while now and
was planning on getting myself (well Sean getting me)
one for our anniversary but now we're moving so I'm waiting to buy.
Well all this extra time waiting has helped me to fall in love with the Blendtec Total Blender.
This one can be found at Costco for a whopping $399.99!
I know that is crazy expensive but I still want it.
Reading dozens of reviews online have convinced me.

I want a chest freezer too.
I have big plans to make lots and lots of freezer meals before the baby comes.
And I want to be able to stock up when things are on sale.
I haven't done enough research to know which exact one I want yet but this one looks nice.
It's a Frigidaire from Best Buy and costs $224.99.

And I almost forgot.
We need to add furniture to my wish list.
When we move to Utah we won't own a couch anymore or night stands or end tables.
We will probably looking for used ones.

If Sean sees this blog post I think he might grow some new gray hairs due to stress.

Holiday Menu

Christmas is a really expensive time of year, we can all agree on that. So, I'm trying to do my part to save a little mula. I'm a firm believe in making dinner menu's. When I do, we eat better, I'm less stressed, we buy less and go out less. I'm trying to up one myself though and try to make a menu for two weeks at a time now and try to avoid going grocery shopping every week. Wish me luck on that. Let me just say that my goal with this menu is to get us through Christmas with spending less than $50 and I think I can do that because I picked meals with ingredients we already have.

Today, Saturday, 11th - Lemon Broccoli Chicken with Rice (we were supposed to have this last night but didn't because we had dinner at a Christmas party instead)

Sunday, 12th - Alfredo (we were supposed to have this last week but never did because we got got the stomach flu)

Monday, 13th - Pancakes, eggs and sausage (breakfast for dinner is cheap and easy, now that's my kind of meal)

Tuesday, 14th - Italian Chicken (crock pot) and soybeans

Wednesday, 15th - Spaghetti (another cheap and easy meal) and if I'm feeling ambitious I'll try to make some french bread...

Thursday, 16th - Baked potatoes with chili and cheese (again, cheap and easy, are you noticing a theme?)

Friday, 17th - Funeral potatoes and grilled chicken

Saturday, 18th - Mexican Casserole

Sunday, 19th - Crepes and scrambled eggs

Monday, 20th - BBQ crock pot chicken sandwiches (I just let some chicken sit in the crock pot covered in BBQ sauce all day and then shredded it up and put it in sandwiches)

Tuesday, 21st - Navajo Taco's (we were supposed to have this also last week but never did because of the stupid, nasty stomach flu)

Wednesday, 22nd - Cajun Pasta Chicken and soybeans (we have a giant thing of soybeans from Costco that I want to use up, I need some more freezer space again)

Thursday, 23rd - Herbed Pork Chops in Mushroom Sauce

Christmas Eve, Friday, 24th - Funeral Potatoes, Baked Ham, Jello, Rolls and Peas

Christmas Day, Saturday, 25th - Breakfast: Monkey Bread (I'm still not 100% about this yet, I'm trying to make our own breakfast tradition and can't decide, any idea's?), Lunch: Yumbo's (It's a tradition in Sean's family that his dad fries up some left over ham with cheese and we eat it in sandwiches) and Dinner: left overs

Sunday, 26th - Lemony Olive Chicken with Rice

Monday, 27th - Mexi Mac

Finally

Today we went shopping in Idaho Falls and to our surprise we found gas at Albertsons priced at $2.12 a gallon! We payed $23 to fill up our car. When Lexi was born we were spending just under $50. Hurray! I know it could be better but thankfully it's not as bad as this...
