Some of Lexi's Art From This Past Week

This is my fourth blog post of the day!
I know, I'm crazy but since the grandparents don't live close this blog is the best way
to keep them updated other than talking to them on the phone.
Anyway, here are some recent pictures created by our very own Lexi.

8/4/12
 "Lon"
Lexi's beloved stuffed animal Lon the lion.
Since, she's learn to draw lions with just four legs.

8/4/12
"Grandpa"
I love the way Lexi draws my dad, especially his hair.

 8/6/12
This picture makes me laugh.
It's Lexi as a baby laying on a green blanket and I'm standing next to her watching her.
Lexi informed me that I'm naked in the picture.
The funny thing is Lexi wouldn't let me take a picture of this until she had drawn her sleeves
(the little pink circles at the ends of her arms coming out of her face).

8/6/12
"Lexi's water bottle"
Lexi is just always drawing pictures of new things.
She's so creative.
The silhouette of this water bottle looks just like hers.

8/6/12
"A caterpillar turning into a butterfly."

8/7/12
Lexi wrote her first and middle name!!!

Finger Painting

We've been on a finger painting kick lately.
My girls have always loved it but I just sometimes forget about it.
Here is some of their artwork from this past week.
We'll start with our littlest artist...

Isn't she a doll?!

This next pictures just makes me laugh.

I love those little hands!

And now some pictures of Lexi and her paintings...

Lexi, the real artist of our family.

She practiced drawing shapes and writing letters and numbers.

I am going to have to head over to Hobby Lobby and buy some canvases for them to paint
because I love their artwork!

L-E-X-I

Lexi has been really excited about the letter L for a while now.
She writes L's on everything!
Seriously, there are sticky notes all over our house with just the letter L on it.
And she's been putting L's all over her artwork.
Just look at this picture Lexi drew of my dad and the sun a few weeks ago...

We've been trying to get her to write her name for a while now.
She's been able to do the I and an X that looks more like a T for a while too.
But she's been so frustrated with trying to write E's.
But today she did it! She wrote all the letters in her name!
Here's her first attempt...

And her second attempt. She almost got the order right.

And on her third try she got it!!!

She was soooo excited! Her face was beaming with pride.
I have to say that I felt pretty proud too.
And since she figured it out, she just keeps writing her name over and over again..

Alright, now that she's got her first name down, it's time to work on her last name.
Haha.
That might take a while.

Lexi's Mother Day Art

This was not my best year for Mother's Day.
I have been so busy lately and it's not gonna slow down until after we move later this week.
I had planned on mailing Lexi's art for Mother's Day but just never made it to the post office.
So here it is on our blog for everyone to see.

Lexi wanted to make Avery a picture too.

Lexi thought that she should also make herself a picture for Mother's Day.

And a picture for dad. Since she loves him too.

Happy Mother's Day!

Lexi's Art

Lexi is becoming quit the little artist.

She is finally at the age where he drawings actuallly look like things.

I just had to share some of her artwork.

This next one is a spider.

And a sun with half of it's rays.

My parents and brother along with our family.

The nativity sceen.

Notice that the angel has a halo and the wiseman has a gift.

All seven of the Christensen grandkids.

Since I know I'm not going to save all of her art and probably won't even scan it,

I'll just take a picture of it. And that works.
