A Heartbroken Family and a Way to Help

Recently my friend Aubrey posted on Facebook
that one of her friends died from childbirth complications.
I didn't really think that happened anymore in the United States.
Alice contracted a horrible infection, strep A toxic shock which ended up taking her life.
She left behind her husband, their two little boys and their newborn daughter.
I cannot imagine the heartache that family is experiencing,
especially yesterday on Mother's Day.

You can go here to Alice's sister-in-law's blog where there has been a fund set up for the family.
You can donate through through Paypal, credit card, or e-check.

Pregnancy Update

I recently decided that I think we're having a boy.
My reasons:
- I lost weight in the beginning of my pregnancy, which I never did with my girls
(I am still actually a pound liter than before I got pregnant, even though I don't look it)
-This baby seems to be a lot lower than my girls were
(it could just be that it's my third child and they are just down and ready to go a lot quicker)
-I am having some ligament pain in my lower abdomen
-I am eating a lot
-And I've had two girls so it's probably time I had a boy
-Sean's gut instinct was that it's a boy and hit gut instinct was right both times before

Lexi is finally coming around to the idea of having a brother.
She told me last week that it could be a boy as long as we name it Flynn Rider.
This last week she also expressed a little concern if we had a boy.
She told me boys are so expensive. All their cars cost so much.
Has she looked at the price tags of all the things she wants in the princess aisle?!

This past week Lexi asked if she could go with me to my prenatal check up.
She is so excited about this baby and so curious.
I told her she could and she did great the whole time.
She was just a little concerned that mommy had to pee in a special cup
and put the cup in the window in the wall.
She was so excited to hear the heart beat but
was really surprised to hear what the heart beat sounded like.
I think she was expecting to hear a baby babbling or crying.
...
I bought some new maternity capris yesterday.
I was fitting into my regular capris just fine until I dried them and they shrunk!
...
I have an ultrasound scheduled a week from Tuesday, so the 22nd.
I'm excited to find out if I need to go shopping for boy clothes or make some new bows.
Lexi is so excited to go to the ultrasound.
She even told me she'll probably be okay if it's a boy.

Lexi's Mother Day Art

This was not my best year for Mother's Day.
I have been so busy lately and it's not gonna slow down until after we move later this week.
I had planned on mailing Lexi's art for Mother's Day but just never made it to the post office.
So here it is on our blog for everyone to see.

Lexi wanted to make Avery a picture too.

Lexi thought that she should also make herself a picture for Mother's Day.

And a picture for dad. Since she loves him too.

Happy Mother's Day!

Lexi's Early Birthday/ Goodbye Party

Today we had an early birthday/ goodbye party for Lexi.
Her birthday isn't until July but we knew she would love celebrating with her friends.
She woke up this morning and asked me how old she was.
I think she was a bit confused that it isn't her real birthday.
This morning we gave her this outfit. She was thrilled.
The best part is we got this outfit for free from our friends that gave us the ballerina clothes.

Here's Lexi and her friend Sofie.
Sofie found this birthday cake in our kitchen toys and gave it to Lexi.

And here's Lexi and with all her friends and presents.
They were all so excited for Lexi to open their gifts.

And, of course, a group picture.

Lexi told me that she wanted ice cream cones.
Which was super easy for me.
I love this next picture because you can see that she is so happy.

We did our first pinata and it was a lot of fun.
Each kid got several turns hitting it and I even got some turns before we could finally break it.

It was a great day for Lexi. A good memory before we move next week.
...
And for fun here's the link to Lexi's birthday party last year.

Avery's Birthday Weekend

We had a birthday party for Avery back on the 27th.
She was so excited and confused to see streamers and balloons when she woke up.

For her party we bought a bubble machine and it was a huge hit.

Avery remembered the concept of presents really quick.

Avery was really excited about her cupcakes.

After Avery blew out the candles she grabbed them and stuck them in her mouth!
I had never seen a kid to that before.
We were all surprised.

I just had to include this picture of Lexi and Zac.
He lives below us and ADORES Lexi!!!
He would do anything if Lexi did it.

And here is a picture of Avery "reading" herself her favorite book
(The Very Busy Spider) for her bedtime story.

And her is Avery on the night of her party. This is her last picture as a one year old.

On Avery's actual birthday the 28th we went to the zoo with the youth from church while Sean studied.
Avery loved seeing the animals.

After the zoo we just played at home while Sean was at the library all day studying.

The when Sean got home we had more cupcakes.

And here's Avery opening the presents on her birthday.

And here is Avery modeling her new dress up clothes.
(Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!!!)

And Avery finished off her birthday doing one of her favorite things, wrestling with her dad.
This girl is wild, feisty and strong!

Ballerinas

The girls got a TON of free clothes and toys yesterday from one of our favorite families in the ward.
Lexi was so excited.
She's the one that got most of the new clothes, including lots and lots of dress and ballerina clothes.
They have been wearing their new dresses non stop.
So I have been happily taking their pictures.
And imagine the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies, the Dance of the Hours or the Waltz of the Flowers playing while you read this post because Lexi LOVES those songs.
We watch Fantasia a lot.

FYI.
This is our 500th post.
Whoot. Whoot.
