Lexi's First Day of Preschool

Blogging has not been my top priority right now because Sean had surgery last week.
I will eventually blog about that.
For now, I'm playing catch up.
...
Last week Lexi started preschool.
Here she sleeping is the morning of her first day.
(Lexi actually loves it when I take pictures of her sleeping.)

She has preschool on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week from 12:30 - 2:30.
Here she is all ready for her first day.
She spent a lot of time picking out her own outfit.
Don't you love the pink boots?

I asked Lexi what a few of her favorite things are.
If you are on Pinterest then I'm sure you've seen people do similar things on the first day of school.
You never know what she's gonna say.

Avery was jealous that Lexi was going to preschool.
She insisted on picking out her own outfit too.
(She picked a nightgown and had to put it on herself and wore it backwards.)
She also wanted to bring a backpack and get her picture taken too.

Lexi is going to an adorable preschool at a friend from church's house.
Tami has a great professional looking preschool in her basement.

Here's Lexi with her teacher Tami.

And Avery insisted on getting a pictures with Tami too. Haha.

Every time we went to dropped off Lexi or picked her, Avery would say, "Avery turn preschool?"
She wants to go so bad. Next year Avery, next year.
...
And here's the blog post I did about Lexi start preschool last year.

First Field Trip & Fair

Last Thursday was Lexi's first preschool field trip (she has one a month).
We went to the state fair.
My girls had never been before
and I hadn't been since Sean and I went together right before his mission.

We had a lot of fun. At first Lexi was upset. She is really, really shy and
gets really, really stressed out sometimes when we are with big groups.
Eventually she warmed up once we got to the petting zoo.

Avery especially loved the petting zoo.
This girl LOVES all animals!

Avery went up to each animal and made their sounds and would wave and say, "hi."
She was very friendly.

Avery would have been happy to stay at the petting zoo all day.
Here's Lexi with her preschool class.
Eventually we broke up into smaller groups.
We went off with Evelyn and her daughter Tess.
We decided to take the girls to the rides.
Lexi had only been on a carousel before this.
I was expecting her to be terrified of the roller coaster but she loved it.
I think it really helped having Tess there.
Luckily for Evelyn and myself all the rides were only $1 that day instead of the usual $3.
So we let the girls go on several rides.
The height requirement for all the rides was 36 inches, which Lexi luckily met.
She was 36 inches at her 3 year check up.
Now, I know Lexi would love Disney Land but I want to wait to go until Avery is big enough to enjoy the rides too. Which might be a while since Avery is even smaller than Lexi
(percentile wise and real size wise too).
Avery did great. She loved watching Lexi ride the rides and loved eating all the treats I had brought for her and Lexi to share.
Evelyn's baby did awesome too. Kaylie just slept most of the time.
Lexi is always asking if we can go back to the fair.

Lexi's First Week of Preschool

Again my pictures of so pixelated on Blogger. Grrr.

Anyway, Last week Lexi started Preschool.

I can't believe that she is old enough to go to school.

Lexi goes to Preschool on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-noon.

She is in a co-op style preschool.

There are six kids and every two weeks we rotate whose house we have preschool at.

The moms are the teachers.

Each week the kids learn about a different letter.
On the weeks of holidays they learn about that holiday.

Every first Thursday of the month we have a field trip.

We have some fun field trips planned, including the fair, a pumpkin patch, a tour of Dion's (an amazing local pizza restaurant), Explora (the local children's science museum), the aquarium and Art Attack (I'm not really sure what that is)... just to name a few.

Lexi loves preschool.

She has loved doing art projects and eating snacks and learning about new things.

I have loved the time at home in peace and quiet since Avery naps during preschool.

I'll explain this last picture.

Lexi and her friend Tess (who we carpool with) are wearing astronaut helmets they made out of milk jugs. They were learning about the letter A and astronauts.
Tess is 9 months older than Lexi. So she's going to be one of the oldest in their grade and apparently one of the tallest. Lexi is going to be one of the short, young ones!

Mrs. Sam and Preschool

This semester I am doing a practium class. I teach preschool in one of the camus labs. It has been fun and challanging growing experience. This week I am teaching a lesson about the household uses of water- bathing, washing dishes and the car, drinking, cooking, etc. It will be my last lesson to teach! I am so excited to be done! Some of the activities that we will be doing are "car" washing, baby doll baths, brushing teeth, washing our hands, bubble art, and water coloring, etc.
