Yesterday I made pasta with diced tomatoes from a can. And so I offered Lexi some tomatoes.

A Memorable Memorial Monday

We had a fanastic day. It was great to be together as a family. We had an easy morning. We just hung out at home and played Wii Fit. Then we headed off to the Park. We had a picnic and then rode on the carousel, which opened today, and of course the swings. After Lexi's nap we went and walked around the temple. And then tonight we just played and relaxed.

I just realized that I am not in any of the pictures. Oh well, that is the life of a mom. All of my favorite ones were of Sean and Lexi.

The Joys of H2O

Friday, I took Lexi swimming on campus for the second time. This time we went our friends Brenda and Sophie. We were in the pool for 30 minutes. And Lexi only screamed this time for 15 minutes! So, we are improving!

Saturday, the spray park opened. And we took Lexi. And she loved it! We will be going back many more times this summer.

Lexi's Latest Tricks

So, we recently put on new picture of Christ above our couch. I wanted a big picture of the Savior on our wall. It's the first thing you see when you walk into our home and I love that. Also, I wanted to start teaching Lexi who Jesus is. After I put the picture on the wall, I pointed to it and said, "Jesus." And Lexi isntantly knew who He was. Everytime I say, "Lexi, where is Jesus?" She points to Him and smiles. It is so precious. I will have to post a video of it because I am is such a awe of her tender little spirit. I believe that the veil is thin and that there are things that she remembers still.

On a less spiritual note, Lexi has figured out how to spin in circles on her bottom. And she has figured out the joys of the slippery bathroom floor. And as you will see in the video, Lexi can do the splits.

The Big 24

Yesterday was my wonderful husband's birthday. Sean turned 24. We tried our best to celebrate, for a weekday. Sean didn't have class until 9:40am so I made him a yummy breakfast sandwhich and he played with Lexi while studying for school. We took him out to lunch at Artic Circle. He really wanted some french fries. Yesterday he also had a tutor session, a tax study group and work. When he got off, Andrea treated us to some delicious Gandolfo's and then we ate DQ ice cream cake. It's the best. And played with Sean's new Wii Fit (Thanks to our parents for the birthday money). And then we watch the video I made Sean (Thank you everyone who participated, it was hilarious and he loved it).

Sean and Andrea are running together. It was pretty hilarious to watch. Sean wanted to finish the course first so he kept running faster but then his Mii kept falling, so he was labeled unbalanced.

Since Sean is never the suject of a post on our blog (unless it has something to do with Alexia) I want to take this opporunity to tell him how much I love him. Sean, I am so proud of all your accomplish and your drive and desire for success. You are such a hard worker and a great example. You are perfect for me and I love you more now than I did when I was a twiterpated teen.

A Christensen Filled Weekend

We convinced Sean's brother Aaron to come up from Provo for the weekend. So we spent a lot of time with him and Sean's sister Andrea who already lives here. Friday, Andrea hosted a "Floacial" (a root beer float social). It was wierd being in single house. It was really loud. Sean was voted best mug. It's hard to beat the bears!
Saturday we all went to our ward party at Porter Park. It was a BBQ. While we were there I got interview by a local newsman. He asked me about why I come to the park (it was a slow news day). After the BBQ, we drove up to Mesa Falls. Which was ton of fun. Lexi didn't like it though, I think she didn't like the loud noise.

Saturday night, Andrea went to a bonfire at Beaver Dick Park, yes it is really called that, though Sean calls it "Water Loving Mammal Richard Park." While she was there Sean and Aaron snuck up on her group and attacked them with water balloons. They didn't realize it was Sean and Aaron, so they were ticked off by "the jerks who got them wet." But later we told Andrea it was them and then all of a sudden it was a hilarious prank.
Today, we had a family breakfast together and took pictures of ourselves. It was a great weekend.

Lexi's Boyfriend!

Our neighbor had a little boy three weeks ago. We have been talking about Porter and Lexi being boyfriend and girlfriend. Last week, Porter came over for a while. So, of course, I took pictures of the cute couple.

Ryan and Lexi's Last Day Together

So I have been watching Ryan since January. She is a regular at our place. I really think that Lexi likes having her around. Friday, Ryan's little brother Owen was born and so it was our last day with Ryan. Nicole is home with the kids and they are getting ready to move to Dallas in two weeks! I just wanted to post some pictures of our great day with the girls. We tagged along with Sean while he went golfing. We walked along for the first three wholes and at that point the course met up with the park so we went and played and then walked to the neighboring duck pond..

The Real Windy City

I've never been to Chicago but I think that Rexburg should at least be considered for the title of "the windy city." This last month has been so windy. I think it is going to calm down and let the summer weather finally come. We live on the third floor and have seen tumble weeds all the way up to the second floor of our stair well.

Here is a picture of a truck full of tumble weeks from outside our building. The problem is they just drove it across the street and dump it in the empty lot next to the church, so it will probably all blow back!

My First Mother's Day

Technically I guess I was a mother last year but I consider this is my first Mother's Day. It was a good day. I woke up with no voice and was feeling a little sick, which was a little stressful because I spoke in sacrament meeting today. Anyway, Lexi and I cuddled in bed this morning. Sean made "creepies" aka crepes for the first time. They turned out great Sweetie. And then we just played before church because I had no church meetings, hurray! Our Relief Society presidency spoke in Sacrament and we did a great job (minus my scratchy voice).

Since it's Mother's Day, I'll like to send a shot out to all the mothers in my life - all my aunts, "grandmas", my wonderful mother-in-law Kristi, my two amazing sisters-in-law Val and Michelle, women in my home ward and all my momma friends. And most importantly my own mom! I just want to public tell my mother - I love you! I am so grateful for all the sacrafices you have made to better my life and make me happy. It makes me feel so great that you love my daughter so much. You are not only an amazing mother but an amazing grandmother ("Gigi").

10 Months Old!!!

Yesterday, Lexi turned 10 months old. I can't believe that is she going to be a year old soon! A lot things have been happening in our little ones life...

Lexi used to just have a snaggle tooth on top. Last month she got her three other front teeth and for the first time, I have been able to get a good picture of her with all her teeth. Are all her teeth adorable!?

Another first- last Saturday we took Lexi swimming on campus during the open swim time. We expected her to love it because she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the bath but she didn't like the pool. She screamed and screamed. We were in the shallow end which was full of screaming and splashing kids. Another reason I think she didn't like it is because she has her first ear infection.

This brings me to another first. Monday night we took Lexi to the ER for the first time. Don't worry it really wasn't a total emergency. We just wanted to get her some meds since Tuesday I had Ryan and Sean was be gone all day. Plus our insurance covered it. She did so great at the hospital. They even gave her a bracelet with her name on it.

Our poor little girl has been sick for days. I took her again to the doctor yesterday. She had lost 1/2 lb in 2 days, which is a lot considering that she only gains a pound a month. But her ears look great and she is just now working on getting over her cold.

Okay, on to more exciting things. Lexi had a bubble bath for the first time. She was a little frustrated because the bubbles kept disapearing when she picked them up but she seem to enjoy it overall.

Something very exciting to me is that Lexi's hair is growing. She can now sport pig tails! Check it out.

Sean and I both agree that we have been so blessed. We love our daughter Alexia more than anyhting. She is such a blessing in our life. She is my life. She is my day. I am pretty much always with her. And I am actually tearing up as I just write this. There is no way for a mother to express her love for her child.
