Finally

Today we went shopping in Idaho Falls and to our surprise we found gas at Albertsons priced at $2.12 a gallon! We payed $23 to fill up our car. When Lexi was born we were spending just under $50. Hurray! I know it could be better but thankfully it's not as bad as this...

What is everyone else paying for gas these days?

Joining the Masses

Okay, it's official. I have now read Twilight and am a fan. I didn't know anything about the book before I began, seriously. All I knew was it was a teenage girl love story. I didn't know anything about Edward or the plot. It was really a surprise to me. I have been glued to the book. I think Sean has been a little annoyed of being ignored (Sorry sweetie). I can't wait to read New Moon and the other books and go see the movie.

I been watching trailers and scenes from the movie on You Tube. Here is the link to my favorite (I don't know how to upload the video onto my blog)...

To Eat or Not to Eat... Solids

Last week at Alexia's check-up I asked the doc about starting rice cereal. He said now would be a good time to offer it to her. I was excited and went out and bought some. Then I started thinking about how I don't want my baby to grow up and no I am kinda rethinking the whole thing. I know this is so crazy that I am so emotional about the whole thing. I have heard and read that it's different for each baby but how will I know?

Mom's when did you start giving your baby solids and what made you decide to do it?

Livin' the Pampered Life... And I Don't Just Mean the Diapers

Last week I took Alexia to my friend Court's class. They were learning about infant massage and I took Alexia to be practiced on. She loved it! Court and I massaged her together, we each did one leg and arm and gave her the royal treatment. We stripped her down to her diaper and put oil all over her body. And last night for Family Home Evening we did it again to Alexia. I was trying to teach Sean how to do it.

Even massaged her arm pits!

It was cute to see Sean massage her.

Our New "Baby Sitter"

Alexia has been trying to sit up straight for a while now. So we bought her this Bumbo seat. She seems to really enjoy it. It will be handy when I start feeding her rice cereal soon (I bought some today and plan on offering it to her probably this week).

Alexia's First Fever

Alexia got a bunch of shots on Thursday. Early Friday morning she started feeling sick and had a temperature of over 100. Of course, I was worried. I spent all yesterday holding her and comforting her and bathing her to keep her cool. Finally late last night her fever broke and she started acting like her little cheery self. Today she is back to being a happy baby and we are happy to. Having a sick baby is a very emotional thing. It is so hard to see your little one in pain.

Look at her red cheeks, the poor thing was burning up and she had just spit up in our bed. She really wasn't feeling well.

Even though she is hot and miserable, she is still a good baby.

Here she is all better.

4 Months!

It's official. Four months ago today Alexia entered the world. She is such a joy in our lives. Sean and I love being her parents and getting to experience her growth and excitement. She is getting more and more fun and her personality is really starting to show. She babbles all the time and now laughes. She can roll over both ways (belly to back and back to belly) and she loves standing up and sitting up. She loves to look at books and play in her tub. Today she had her four month check-up. She is perfect.

Her are her stats:
Weight: Slightly over 12 1/2 lbs (27%) ... that is more than double her birth weight!
Height: 25 inches (79%) ... no wonder is has been eating so much she is going to play basketball
Head: 15 3/4 inches (24%)

Here are some pictures of her four month old photo shoot today (I can't stop taking pictures of this cutie)...

Alexia's Hungry!

A few weeks ago I switched to exclusively pumping instead of nursing (It's a long story). Anyway, now that Alexia is being bottle fed, I know exactly how much she is eating. I decided a week and a half a ago to keep track just out of curiosity. Well the stats are in... She averages 9 feedings a day and eats a little over 25 ounces a day! And one day she had over 31 ounces! That is close to 2 lbs, which is a lot for someone who is about 12 lbs (We will find out for sure her weight on Thursday at her 4 month check up). I am not sure what is average but I know this girls loves eating. It probably won't be too long before she is eating solids.

1 Week Down, 37 More to Go!

I was prego for 38 weeks (I got out of the last 2 when Alexia decided to come early). I will admitt that I didn't work out during that time, so now I am making up for it. I started working out again this week. I waited so long because of my internal staples (I had a c-section). I have been going to our church building across the street in the mornings and working out with some other women. It has been really great for me to do this with others. I am so greatful that Abby got me going. Today I put on a pair of pre-Lexi jeans (although, they are one of my bigger pairs) and zipped them up. I was so happy... and what did we do tonight, go get ice cream from G's Dairy Delight. Oh well, I have many more weeks of working out to do.

Trick-or-Treating

Since it was Alexia's first Halloween we attempted to take her trick-or-treating. Here are a few pictures of her showing off her home-made bear costume. She looked so cute.
