I Got A New Attitude!

Friday I got my hair cut by my friend Shirelle.
It was just what I needed!
My old hair-do was just BLAH.
I decided to keep my hair long but add some layers and get bangs.
When I came home Lexi told me that I looked pretty like Belle. From her that's a huge compliment!
And Sean told me I was bangin! Refering to my bangs.
(He thinks he's so witty.)
I feel like a whole new woman with a whole new attitude.

The last time I had bangs was a few months after we got married...

Movie Monday

I know what you're all thinking,

GASP! A "Movie Monday" movie on Monday!

I'm trying to be more consistant now that I actually have a working computer.

Yeah, this girl loves music, dancing, laughing, smiling and generally melting my heart.

Oh in case you're wondering about the song, "Mickey" by B*Witched, Lexi loves it!

I think she thinks it's about Mickey Mouse.

She's Growing Up!

Yes, this is the second post I am doing about Avery being 10 months old.
But she's my baby and this is my blog. So I do what I want.
Here are a few pictures I snapped of this energetic baby this morning...

Here are some things I want to remember about Avery:
She mostlty just says, "Mum."
She signs "more" and "all done" when she's eating.
She LOVES music and singing. And will instantly dance or sway when she hears either.
Lexi can always make her laugh.
She now walks along the side of things.
Avery can crawl faster than any other baby. She's so quick.
She now waves when we say, "hi" or "Bye, bye."
As soon as Avery hears the water running in the tub she books it for th bathroom.
This baby LOVES the bath! She often splashes so much that Lexi wants out of the tub.
Avery LOVES babies. And squeals when she sees them. And always wants to touch them.
Avery is one of the loudest babies I know.

10 months ago today I held my little Avery for the first time.
I have loved holding her this past 10 months.
Avery really does bring so much happiness to our home. We all love her very much.
Here's a picture of my holding her for the first time.
(Well the first time after she got cleaned up. And excuss my tired face.
23 hours of labor and pushing out a baby will do that to ya.)
And for comparison's sake, here's a picture of me and Avery this weekend.
Boy has my little Joy changed!
I picked this particular picture because I think that I look like my own mom.
And to be honest, I have never thought that I looked like either of my parents.

I love the fact that Avery has my big, dark, green eyes!
They are the same eyes that my mom has.
It makes me think of the Taylor Swift song, "The Best Day."
The part that says, "And I loved you for giving me your eyes.

And yes, I did get a haircut. Hurray for change!

12 Dresses

If you're wondering what I did this weekend, well this is it...

I sewed my first Barbie clothes collection.
I'm really pleased with how they turned out.
I'm really, really excited about these dresses that I completed with sleeves.

Thank you to my beautiful models - Belle, Beach Barbie and Cinderella.
Next on my list is skirts and shirts.
And later Lexi and I are going to go to Joann's and pick out some fabric for bridal Barbie clothes!

New Wardrobe

I've decided that Lexi's Barbie's new some new clothes. So I "whipped" these up this morning. I have several more dresses "in the works" and have even decided that I want to sew a Barbie wedding dress. I'm feeling adventurous and Lexi is so excited!

Dentist Drama & Lexi's First Visit

If you've been following me on Facebook then you probably already know something about our dental drama. Last month our friend Denette recommended we got see Dr. Terry Gomez. So Sean went to her just for an examine. She said he had one cavity. Sean really liked her but she wasn't in our insurance network so we had to find a different dentist for our cleaning. So I just picked a close dentist from the insurance website. So Sean then went Dr. Mark Walker who had all the fanciest equipment and seemed to be a little aggressive. He told Sean that he had six cavities! He also wanted Sean to come back for some deep pre-cleaning before the regular covered cleaning. Which would have been $140 out of pocket!!! NO GOOD. Yesterday, I went to a third doctor, recomend by my friend Catherine, Dr. Kurt Lambert. And he was AMAZING! He spent time actually talking to me and he worked me in for a cleaning the same day. And the best news is, NO CAVITIES FOR ME! So, Sean got a copy of his x-rays from the first dentist he saw and went to Dr. Lambert today and guess what NO CAVITIES FOR SEAN!!! He did say that our a few spots where the teeth are a little thinner and will need to be addressed in the future but not now. So we did a BIG HAPPY DANCE today!!!

Yesterday this little girl also went to the dentist. It was Lexi's first time ever! And she did great.

She was so excited to go to the dentist like Mommy.

She looks scared in this picture but to be honest she did so great. The hygienist was awesome! She let Lexi see all of the equipment and she even painted Lexi's nails with special nail polish. Lexi still sucks on her fingers and so this should help. Every time she sticks her fingers in her mouth now she gags. I think this stuff might do the trick!

Lexi did get a little scared when Dr. David Martinez came to look at her. But he was AWESOME and asked to count her "Princess Teeth." I'm so happy she had such a good experience and we found such a great pediatric dentist. I'm so glad my friend Dodie recommended him.

Lexi was so excited because she got a Cinderella sticker and pink floss and a pink tooth brush. And they even let her take home a tooth brush for Avery. And I'm so happy because LEXI HAS NO CAVITIES!

Making Up More "Movie Mondays"

Lexi is obessed with her Disney Princess Sing-a-Long DVDs.

Here she is singing some songs from them..

Here's Lexi is singing, "I'm Wishing" From Snow White.

And here is Lexi singing, "Like Other Girls" from Mulan II

Lexi's a little princess. That's for sure.

Making Up Some "Movie Mondays"

Here are some video's I took this past week. Enjoy...

Avery LOVES watching Lexi's Disney Princess Sing-a-Long DVDs. She just sits on the floor as close to the TV as she can and rocks back and forth to the music.

It's been sunny and 60. So we've started going to the park and on walks. The girls and I are loving the constant warm sunshine.

Valentines Day - The Gift

This is what my hubby got me, well really we decided to get each other, for Valentines - a new computer. It's so fast. And the screen is bigger than the one on our old TV! Yeah I'm in love. So next time you read my blog you can just imagine me sitting in front of this bad boy...

We have been dreaming of a desktop computer for years (ever since our laptop first started having problems right after Lexi was born). And we finally decided it was time to buy a new computer because 1) Sean is amazing and got a bonus at work for creating an Excel program to submit vouchers, basically he's a wiz kid and above and beyond the call of duty, and 2) Sean got some extra cash from traveling last week and 3) now that Sean is starting to study for the CPA we need a fast computer that we can download his study material onto. Oh and 4) I want to be able to blog again!

Valentines Day - Homemade Decor

We really had no Valentine decor besides a wreath I made last year. So this year I took matters into my own hands and get my craft on...

The one on the left is Lexi and the one on the right is Avery.
It's hard to tell but the fabrics are a little different.
These bags are like little back packs for chairs.

Below is a picture of the surprises we got Lexi (some dresses for the little princess dolls she collects, a princess poster, another princess sing-a-long DVD and a Little Critter Valentine book)

Craft #2: This festive "banner." These are all over blog land. I finally decided to make one of my own. I love how it turned out so much that I've already started making one for St. Patrick's Day.
There are several tutorials out there.
And in case you're like me and not a fancy sewer than perhaps you don't know what
bias tape is or how to sew it.
So look here at this tutorial.
(I case you're wondering, bias tape is that long white strip of fabric.)

Craft #3 - This cute little LOVE sign (click here to see tutorial).

And a close up.

I also made some of my own Valentine subway art but forgot to take a picture. Oh well. Maybe you'll see it next year.
